For most organisations, email remains the primary tool for enabling online collaboration, to the extent where we use it not just for messaging, but also for group discussions, document collaboration and managing tasks, among other things. However, despite our dependence on email, there is a growing sense that we are spending too much on managing and maintaining our email systems, and that something just isn’t quite right in this picture.
On 19th April, we launched the fifth in our series of online, on-demand MWD Insights events, this one focused on the changing role of email in business, and providing strategies for managing email consumption, both in the short term and the long term.
The event, which is entitled Email in the cloud: hype, opportunity and your collaboration strategy, comprises two webcasts. The first is called The Future of Email: The lure of the cloud, and examines the benefits of leveraging cloud technologies to quickly relieve pressure on already stretched IT budgets. The second webcast, The Future of Email: An evolving collaboration strategy, considers where email will fit going forward as we increasingly take advantage of new, state-of-the-art collaboration tools such as social software and web conferencing, for example.
The event is immediately accessible to anyone with a free MWD Guest Pass account; if you don’t want to register on our site, though, you can also use your LinkedIn account to sign in. We’d love to find out what you think of it (you can do that by visiting the feedback page on the event microsite; anyone leaving feedback receives a discount code that entitles them to money off some of our premium research reports).
Thanks are due to the sponsors who are supporting this event and enabling us to deliver it free: Google and Zoho. Both sponsors have provided information about their email and collaboration solutions on the event microsite; please take time to visit their online ‘booths’ while you’re checking out the event.
One last thing: we’d like to reassure you that although this event is sponsored, all the event content has been independently researched and produced by MWD, and the sponsors have had no input into the production of the content.
We hope you enjoy the event!
