As part of the preparation for St. Patricks Day, Guinness has laid out its vision for the pub of the future.

Their innovation team worked with Ben Hourahine, a "futurist", to provide a view of what a local would look like in 250 year's time. Well, the first thing you will notice is the robot doorman, who will greet you by name, because it has read your implanted RFID tag. Your beverages will be brewed as you ask for them using the latest bio-technology and will be brought to your table by a magnetic levitation tray.

The next piece really gets to me; you can even meet your friends there when they are somewhere else! Now I know that sounds **** about face, but this about using holographic projections. Lastly, using embedded digital elements in the walls, you can create different scenes.

Well, I think that all that is then needed is for Scotty to be around to beam you home at the end of the evening!
