In very many ways data cleansing is a commoditised market, albeit that data quality issues are still not as widely recognised, or dealt with, as they should be. Nevertheless, there are significant differences between vendors when it comes to both vertical industries and support for particular legislative requirements. Where we expect to see changes in the future are in support for unstructured and semi-structured data, though few vendors (IBM is a notable exception) are currently talking much about governance, including data cleansing, and how it relates to big data.
