News Release

hybris Offers Marketplace Functionality from Mirakl via the hybris Extend Integration Marketplace
Released: 3rd October 2013
Publisher: Ascendant Communications

hybris, an SAP company and the world’s fastest-growing commerce platform provider, today announced that it is working with Mirakl, the leading provider of online marketplace solutions for B2B and B2C retailers, to provide hybris customers with the ability to quickly and easily add marketplace functionality to the hybris Commerce platform. With many retailers in B2B and B2C recognising the revenue and brand extension opportunities marketplaces represent, the availability of Mirakl’s marketplace solutions, via the hybris Extend integration marketplace, will be a welcome addition to the functionality and customisation available to hybris Commerce customers.

Fast and easy to deploy, the SaaS-based marketplace solution from Mirakl is fully integrated with hybris via plug-ins developed by both companies. Speaking about the announcement, Adrien Nussenbaum, co-founder and CEO of Mirakl, said, “For many retailers, marketplaces have become an essential tool that provides an effective response to client expectations in terms of choice, price, and service. Based on a multitude of specialised selling partners, and a range of indicators to ensure quality of service for customers, the marketplace model allows online retailers to significantly broaden their range while ensuring the best prices and quality of service.

By taking a commission on sales, cutting storage and logistics costs, and sharing technical and marketing costs, the marketplace model is beneficial for the operator, for retailers, and for customers who remain loyal to their favourite brands,” Nussenbaum added.

Using Mirakl, hybris customers can develop their own marketplace strategies and increase their revenue and profitability from their online business. Major retailers, such as Galeries Lafayette in France, are already using the combined hybris/Mirakl marketplace and commerce solution to successfully extend their e-commerce portfolio.

“By offering Mirakl’s marketplace solution on hybris Extend we are ensuring our customers can maximize the effectiveness of hybris as a commerce solution and cover every sell-side customer touch-point,” said Frank Schoutissen, Vice President Channel at hybris. “Scalable to support retailers of any size, operating in any location and selling both digital and physical goods, hybris can enable the full range of commerce activities across all sales channels. We look forward to seeing the benefits that marketplace functionality from Mirakl on our Extend portal will bring to our customers.”
