Yves Le Roux, principal consultant at CA Technologies, will discuss privacy requirements in a worldwide context at ISACA’s European Computer Audit, Control and Security (CACS)/Information Security and Risk Management (ISRM) Conference in London, England, on 16-18 September 2013

In his presentation, titled “Complying to Privacy Requirements in a Worldwide Context: Present and Future,” Le Roux will discuss:

  • the current state of legislation in the EU and other countries
  • the Privacy and Law Enforcement issue
  • privacy issues arising from mobility, BYOD and big data
  • steps that can be immediately implemented to evolve regulatory compliance programmes
  • case studies that reinforce concepts

“Privacy is entering a time of flux, and social norms and legal systems are trying to catch up with the changes that digital technology has brought about,” said Le Roux, who is also Chair of ISACA’s Data Privacy Task Force.  "Privacy is a complex construct, influenced by many factors, and it can be difficult to future-proof business plans so they keep up with evolving technological developments and consumer expectations about the topic."

The 2013 EuroCACS/ISRM conference is hosted by ISACA—a nonprofit global association serving more than 110,000 IT governance, assurance, risk and security professionals. Themed “New Era, New Edge,” the conference will feature panels and facilitated discussions led by presenters and workshop leaders from companies such as CISCO, Deutsche Post AG, Caixa Econmica (Brazil), Dell Software, Deloitte, HSBC, Ziraat Bankasi (Turkey), Morgan Stanley, Information Commissioner’s Office (UK), Duane Morris and many others.

Assurance, risk and security perspectives will be presented in four tracks that cover Consumerisation, Information, Technology and Delivery. Additionally, in forum discussions steered by audience interaction, industry leaders will share strategic and organizational approaches for top IT concerns from the business perspective in IT system audit/assurance, program governance, data security, and risk management focusing on connected “smart” buildings.

Pre- and post-conference workshops offer hands-on training in critical areas such as IT risk governance and assessment, audits and data analytics, BYOD, cloud computing, privacy requirements and COBIT 5, a business framework for the governance and management of enterprise IT.

Registration for EuroCACS/ISRM is US $2,100 for ISACA members and US $2,340 for nonmembers. Attendees can earn up to 39 continuing professional education (CPE) hours. Additional details, registration and hotel information on EuroCACS/ISRM are at
