Strencom today announces that it has been awarded Irish Microsoft Hosting Partner of the Year following the completion of a €500,000 investment in its enterprise voice and data service based on the Microsoft Lync Unified Communications (UC) platform.
The Strencom UC cloud platform is the first fully functional hosted Lync solution available in Ireland and is delivering a number of unique features to customers. Hosted IP telephony avoids any large scale investments in IP PBX equipment and maintenance and the Strencom solution can call and interact with non-Lync users while still gaining the full collaboration benefits of Unified Communications. Strencom is the only provider enabling this innovation for Irish businesses.
It is being delivered by Strencom channel partners around Ireland and can streamline the way businesses manage communications. Any organisation can be up and running on the hosted solution in a matter of days with minimal interruption to employees, where as traditional on-premises solutions usually take months to implement. Features such as desktop sharing, presence, audio/video and web conferencing and integration with Microsoft Lync mobile applications are significantly increasing productivity.
As it is a cloud based solution it is providing cost savings of over 25% for end customers and has a faster ROI due to the hosted pay per user model. Cost savings are achieved across many areas of the business, including eliminating expensive primary rate phone lines and pay per minute audio/video conferencing services, as well as reduced mobile roaming for overseas travellers and reduced travel requirements.
Tim Murphy, CEO, Strencom said, “Deciding on deploying a UC solution within a business is often a very strategic decision, and has visibility right up to executive leadership within an organisation; which is somewhat unusual for many seemingly ordinary IT projects. The reason for this is that UC solutions can actually contribute to the top-level goals and objectives of a company, especially around process improvement, increased productivity and better engagements with customers and partners. And because a high number of unified communications project fail, the Strencom hosted option has been very attractive to businesses.”
Due to the strong interest Strencom has been receiving for its hosted Microsoft Lync Solution it has recruited a new dedicated channel manager, Eoin Mulligan who is a Microsoft Lync expert. His main role will be to drive business growth in this market and provide the best levels of support to all of Strencom’s partners and customers.
Tim Murphy continued, “We have been a partner of Microsoft for a number of years, collaborating to deliver market-leading cloud based solutions for our customers. Late last year we launched our enterprise Virtual Data Centre and are delivering Microsoft business critical applications to our customers in a private cloud environment.
“It was a great honour to win this award and validation of the hard work and investment we have put into developing our offerings over the last two years. We have invested heavily in our solutions and forecast that we will continue to grow our cloud business strongly over the next few years.”
The Microsoft Partner Program Awards were held recently at Microsoft’s Worldwide Partner Conference in Houston, Texas. The awards recognise partners that have developed and delivered exceptional Microsoft-based solutions over the last year.
