3PAR Recovery Manager for VMware

Enterprises seeking to simplify managing their IT infrastructure and make it as agile as possible have implemented server virtualisation, typically using VMware, and are increasingly adding storage virtualisation. Yet there are major technical difficulties in bringing these together, not the least being VMware administrators lacking visibility into the storage. A particular difficulty is trying to take back-up snapshots from many virtual machines and associated virtual storage, with granular recovery made when needed. This white paper describes what Bloor believes is a conceptually optimal approach to solving these problems - as deployed for VMware users of its virtualised storage by 3PAR in its Recovery Manager for VMware vSphere (RMV).
