Released: 11th February 2014
Publisher: Ascendant Communications

Scandit, the developer of software-based enterprise barcode scanning and data capture technology for smartphones, tablets and wearable computing devices, will be displaying the dynamic abilities of its solution to support Google Glass and Samsung Galaxy Gear at EuroShop and EuroCIS in Dusseldorf, Germany later this month (16-20 February 2014).

Demos on the Scandit booth (Hall 7, booth C24), will show the latest developments to the Scandit Barcode Scanner SDK, including optimised support for wearable technologies. The focus will be on the potential that cutting edge mobile scanning technology delivers to retailers and other wide-ranging sectors including manufacturing and logistics.

Customer usage scenarios will be illustrated on the booth, providing visitors with an insight into how Scandit’s technology is currently being utilised for self-scanning, mobile shopping and mobile point of sale through to mobile inventory and asset management as well as order fullfilment.

“We will be demonstrating how both Google Glass and Galaxy Gear can leverage our unique features, such as blurry scanning and dynamic range capability in a wide range of retail scenarios,” commented Samuel Mueller, CEO at Scandit. “But we are also keen to show visitors the breadth of applications for which the Barcode Scanner SDK is already being used by prestigious brands around the world.”

Samuel Mueller will be presenting at the Multi-Channel Forum at EuroCIS on Tuesday February 18th at 2.35pm, discussing ‘Mobilizing Data Capture for Omni-Channel Retail Success’.

Scandit’s mobile scan technology is licensed to over 10,000 organisations internationally, and the company works closely with developers to ensure its features and functionality are suitable for enterprise and consumer applications.

“In the retail market in particular, there is a strong drive towards empowering the consumer so that they can retrieve and act on product information delivered via self-scanning devices,” continued Samuel Mueller. “This functionality, plus the ‘hands free’ inventory management, procurement and asset tracking that will be enabled by wearable device scanning will be the key focus for Scandit at EuroShop/EuroCIS.”
