News Release

SCAN COIN gears up for a busy Christmas with Advanced Field Service
Released: 27th November 2013
Publisher: Advanced Field Service

27 November 2013 – Cash handling solutions provider, SCAN COIN is using Advanced Field Service’s (Advanced) technology to help customers to manage their money handling systems in the run up to Christmas.  Advanced’s Siclops, a service management system, has enabled hundreds of SCAN COIN’s customers in the retail, banking and public transport sectors to schedule and manage services ahead of the busy holiday period.

Advanced has integrated Siclops with Crystal Reports which enables SCAN COIN to provide its customers with regular reports on service activity, monthly or quarterly as they prefer.

SCAN COIN provides solutions to help customers with coin counting, sorting and packaging, bank note counting and closed loop cash handling. The business carries out over 500 planned maintenance calls every month and has relied on Siclops to schedule and manage servicing since 2008.

Siclops is an integrated service management system designed for companies which provide installation, service or maintenance via a field or site-based workforce. SCAN COIN utilises Siclops to produce reports cover metrics such as actual versus target response times and how many planned maintenance visits have been made.

Andy Kershaw, Service Manager SCAN COIN comments: “The Christmas period is the busiest time of the year for many of our clients, particularly those in the retail, finance and cash-in-transit sectors. It’s essential that their cash processing systems are fully serviced and in optimum working order ahead of the season. Systems breakdowns at this time of year are disruptive for customers and staff and costly for businesses.”

“December  is also a very busy time for our clients in the transport sector. 90% of UK bus drivers pay their takings into  one of our cash deposit systems and we have a service technician permanently travelling around London Underground to service cash-handling machines. Being able to plan the activities of our technicians to ensure the smooth running of our solutions during their busiest time of the year is vitally important and we rely on Siclops to achieve this.”

Advanced continues to work closely with SCAN COIN, providing customised web portals which are offered to key customers. SCAN COIN is committed to tailoring its services to its clients’ needs and the web portals are key to enabling customers to log calls, schedule site visits and produce management reports in a way which suits them.

Says Kershaw: “ It’s not just existing customers who recognise that we provide an exceptional level of information: “One recent prospect was amazed when we showed them the web portal that would be available to them if they became a SCAN COIN customer.”

Greg Ford, Managing Director Advanced Field Service comments: “Siclops is widely used by companies like SCAN COIN with engineers in the field who work to tight schedules in order to deliver the highest levels of customer service. The Christmas period is the most challenging time of the year for many of these and we are committed to a programme of on-going development designed to help them streamline their planning activities.”
