Can Studios Launch 'Build an eLearning Course' Competition

eLearning specialists launch competition; prizes include iPad and iPod Shuffles.
Released: 24th January 2014
Publisher: Can Studios

Sheffield, UK, January 24th, 2014 - Can Studios, an award-winning team dedicated to creating bespoke elearning systems, software and materials, are challenging the learning community to put their course authoring skills to the test, with a selection of top prizes for the winners, including an iPad Mini and two iPod Shuffles.

Zembl 5.7 is the latest version of Can Studios’ unique collaborative content authoring tool. Zembl makes it easy to develop rich, interactive, and multimedia elearning materials that work across Windows, OSX, Linux, iOS, and Android.

Zembl 5.7 introduces advanced sharing functionality that makes it easier than ever before for course creators to distribute their elearning materials amongst students, employees, course reviewers, testers, clients, and anyone else who requires access. Zembl 5.7’s free course hosting services let users publish their course online, and then distribute its URL with the click of a button, using Zembl’s integrated sharing buttons.

Can Studios are challenging Zembl users to create an elearning course that runs for ten minutes or more, and then publish their work using Zembl 5.7’s sharing functionality. All courses published as part of this competition will be judged on how visually appealing, engaging and effective they are, in addition to how well they utilise Zembl’s feature set.

The entrants who create and publish the elearning courses that most successfully fulfill the competition criteria, will win:

  • 1st place. An iPad Mini and a 12 month subscription to Zembl’s “Large” plan (worth £1999).
  • 2nd & 3rd place. The first two runners-up, will each receive an iPod Shuffle and a 12 month subscription to Zembl’s “Medium” plan (worth £499).
  • 4th & 5th place. The second two runners-up, will each receive a 12 month subscription to Zembl’s “Small” plan (worth £149).

The entries will be judged by Amanda Crossland, who has over 23 years of experience in the elearning industry. Amanda was also been a member of the judging panels for the eLearning Age Awards.

All courses must be published publicly by 12.00 midnight, GMT, on 28th February, 2014. Courses published after this date, or courses that are published privately, will not be eligible. The contest is open to all Zembl users in the United Kingdom, including Northern Ireland, and is also open across all Zembl subscriptions, including the free Starter subscription.

You can find out more about the competition, including full details on how to enter, at the Zembl blog.
