LSI SAS Technology to Power Over 100 New Server Models with the IntelŽ XeonŽ Processor

Intel Developer Forum, San Francisco, Calif., September 11, 2013 – LSI Corporation (NASDAQ: LSI) today announced that its 12Gb/s SAS storage solutions will power more than 100 new server models based on today’s announced Intel® Xeon® Processor E5-2600 v2 Product Family. Leading server manufacturers that have selected LSI® 12Gb/s SAS and MegaRAID® solutions to provide accelerated storage performance and enterprise data protection for their next-generation server platforms include Asustek, Fujitsu, Gigabyte, Huawei, Intel, Supermicro and others.

LSI 12Gb/s SAS technology delivers 50 percent greater storage I/O performance. The Intel Xeon Processor E5-2600 v2 Product Family, based on 22nm process technology, delivers greatly reduced power consumption while at the same time providing increased performance. The combined solution enables a powerful platform for next-generation servers.

LSI announced the industry's first shipments of 12Gb/s SAS RAID-on-Chip and I/O controllers for server and external storage OEMs this year. In July, LSI announced its first-to-market family of 12Gb/s SAS host bus adapters.
